Which treatment suits whom, safety tips and renewal frequency.
There are many options in brow and lash treatments and their names get mixed up: lamination, lift, silk lashes, microblading... Below we sum up which treatment is for which need.
Brow lamination
A treatment that directs and sets brow hairs upward. It is ideal for unruly brows, those growing in different directions, or sparse-looking brows. It lasts 6-8 weeks and does not prevent natural brow growth. Combined with tint, it looks fuller.
Lash lift
A treatment that curls the lashes from the root, lifts them and darkens them with tint. No artificial lashes are added; your own lashes look longer and curled. It greatly reduces the need for mascara and lasts 6-8 weeks. If you wear contact lenses you must remove them before the session.
Silk lashes
An artificial lash is glued onto each natural lash one by one. Classic (1:1) gives a natural look, volume (2D-4D) a denser one. A refill is needed every three to four weeks. For lash health it is important not to choose an extension that is too heavy; overloading a natural lash beyond what it can carry can cause shedding.
Permanent brows (microblading / powder)
By depositing pigment in the skin, brow shape and colour last 1-3 years. It is a solution designed for those with no brow growth or very sparse brows.
Which is for whom?
- Brows are there but unruly: Lamination.
- Brows are sparse or gappy: Microblading or powder brows.
- Lashes short and straight, but I don't want extensions: Lash lift.
- I want full, long, striking lashes: Silk lashes.
- A perfect eyeline without makeup: Permanent eyeliner.
Safety tips
Whichever treatment, have an allergy test; if you have a history of eye infection, cold sores or allergic reaction, be sure to say so. Make sure single-use tips and spatulas are used. Ask about the specialist's certificate. If you feel redness, swelling or itching around the eyes, contact the centre that performed the treatment immediately.
How often to renew?
Lamination and lifts every 6-8 weeks, silk lashes with a refill every 3-4 weeks, and permanent makeup with a refresh every 1-2 years. Using a lash serum in between helps keep lashes strong.

FAQ: Can it be done during pregnancy?
There is not enough data on the safety of the chemicals used for lash lift and brow lamination in pregnancy, so we cannot recommend treatment during this period. Brow shaping (tweezers, threading) and herbal brow tint may be considered with physician approval.
